Beaver Pond Trail, Quinsam Campground

To reach the Beaver Pond Trail, you can take a side trail to the beaver ponds from the Quinsam River campsite that takes you past some wonderful ponds filled with birds, frogs, fish, and all sorts of other wildlife. I hike in here all the time and never get tired of seeing it all. You should bring your camera and lunch and be prepared for some incredible wonders. I have been coming to these ponds long before there was anything more than a muddy animal trail that gave you access from the highway. I would fish in the ponds year-round and always brought home a nice feed of trout.

Up above these ponds, on the ridge that separates the campground from the beaver ponds, you can still find the remains of an old log cabin where I spent many nights back when I was quite young. Fishing in the ponds, and then having a fire at the cabin where you cook up a great feed of fish and beans were the joys of a great childhood.

You can camp at this river at the Quinsam River Campsite where there are sites ready for you and your family, come, relax and take a nice walk along a great little river.
