The Oyster River Nature Park is a great place to go for a walk, you have the river on one side and the farm fields on the other side. There are some awesome trails that wander through some very nice trees. You will find Douglas Fir, Big Leave Maple, Western Cedar, Red Alder, Western Hemlock and a variety of shrubs and flowers. Along the banks of the river, you can see a few giant Cottonwood trees and during the spring there are many white and pink lilies and if you look hard, you can see some tiger lilies.

Many kinds of ducks can be seen flying over the river or floating in the river, and in the estuary, there are large flocks of gulls, Bald Eagles and if you are lucky, you could see deer and out at sea you can see seals and sea lions. The river has a great salmon spawn of  Coho, Pink, Chum, and Chinook. Hikers often continue to hike along woodhus slough and end there walk at salmon point.

The beach out in front of salmon point has a great setup for waves when its windy and you can usually see them out riding the waves. The pond behind the trail always has plenty of ducks, herons and songbirds that you can see, its a great bird watching area.
