As a camping destination, few locations can beat the beautiful Miracle Beach Park, located between Campbell River and the Comox Valley.  Miracle Beach Park is right on the waters edge.

A large white sandy beach on the shores of the inland straights is the main attraction at Miracle Beach, which also features beautiful private campsites, group camping facilities, a playground for the kids, hot showers, a large picnic area overlooking the water and a series of wonderful trails winding through a lush forest setting.

At low tide, the beach features rich tide pools, perfect for viewing and learning about the variety of marine life that teems in the offshore waters. The location of this park provides easy access to both the communities of Campbell River and the Comox Valley.

On the beach, sandcastle building, sun tanning, swimming, exploring tide pools or just frolicking along the shore are all part of the Miracle Beach experience. The trails are just awesome to walk on, the beach trail is one of my favorites although the trail that runs along Black Creek is a pretty awesome place to take a walk as well. Don’t miss the annual sandcastle building day in June, where playful people of all ages create fantastic sculptures for all to enjoy.

In the spring of 2016, my family and l were out walking the beach trail, it was during the herring spawn. We could here birds, lots of birds as we approached the beach, then we saw it, thousands of birds, gulls, black brant geese, canadian geese and lots of different ducks, all feasting on a herring spawn. It was quite incredible to observe this event. I spent hours photographing the whole affair.

Miracle Beach is a very popular destination during the summer and campsite reservations are highly recommended. Next door to Miracle Beach is Saratoga Beach with its many resorts and campgrounds. Saratoga Beach is a good alternative if Miracle Beach is full.
