The Lund area was inhabited for thousands of years by the Tla’amin Nation. It was a place of plenty where they enjoyed an abundance of wild foods of all kinds, which allowed them to develop a rich culture. Their hereditary territory spaned along the northern portions of the Sunshine Coast. They are people of the sea. Tla’amin villages were located along the coast and throughout Desolation Sound. Lunds name is Klah ah men.

The first settler in the territory was Charlie Thulin who sailed from Sweden in 1889, he named Lund Harbour after a town in Sweden. He constructed a wharf and set up a store to sell supplies to passing boats. He was soon joined by his brother Fred. They began to log the area’s forests and discovered a need for accommodation for the influx of loggers and settlers moving into the area.

We had one of the best burgers in lund and then had ice cream, we visited the shops and wandered the docks, saw quite a few seals that were not very shy. You have a great chance of seeing wildlife such as seabirds, dolphins, and sea lions, so keep an eye out.
