Bamberton Park is located in Mill Bay on Vancouver Island and is a beautiful place to visit. The white sandy beach and picnic areas at the beach are great places to sunbathe. Situated on the west side of Saanich Inlet, the park is a great place for a picnic. The views from the beach are awesome and kids will love swimming at the beach.

Up off the beach area is a well-maintained campground surrounded by a forest full of arbutus trees is available for camping, there are 50 camping sites here. There are eagles and osprey that can be seen circling high above and ducks, geese, and seals are commonly seen at the seashore. The trail that leads to the beach is great for birding, plenty of beautiful little songbirds can be seen here.

Johns Creek flows into the park and just before it reaches the beach is a nice little waterfall, quite pretty to observe, hiking around in the park is quite pleasant.

The park is very popular in the summer months and can get very busy beginning in June when a number of nearby schools make field trips to study the intertidal life on the beach. It’s a wonderful place for children and adults alike to learn about the ocean and the creatures that live there.

Saanich being just across the inlet by ferry means Bamberton Park is within easy reach of many tourist attractions like Butterfly World and the Butchart Gardens on the Saanich Peninsula. The ferry ride itself is a nice trip, and you can see a variety of mammals as you head to Brentwood Bay.

Goldstream Park is just up the road where you can watch the returning salmon spawn in the fall and Victoria is only 30 minutes away.
