Keogh Lake

Keogh Lake is part of the Alice Lake Loop, a wonderful road trip that takes you to numerous lakes, rec sites and incredible side trips to places like The Eternal Fountain or the Devil’s Bath. Keogh Lake is the first stop on this loop. To reach this lake, drive past Port McNeill on Highway 19 until you reach the Keogh Lake main logging road. This road takes you right to the lake.

On the far side of the lake is the Clint Beek Rec Site. You reach this site on the same road, but as you are driving from the highway, you will come to an intersection, turn left onto the Cluxewe road and follow until you see the branch road, CL38, turn right here, and this will take you to the rec site.

The Clint Beek Rec Site is located on the Lake. The site was built by the MacMillan Bloedel logging company in the late 1990s and named after Clint Beek, a man who spent most of his life working for M&B.

You will find 13 campsites here with a summer host on site. There is a very nice grassy area for the kids, a rustic boat launch, along with a great sandy beach. Keogh Lake is a non-motorized-only lake. There is a small dock and another one anchored out in the lake as a swimming platform. Where the dock is located, you will find a covered picnic area. There are several other spots to picnic as well.

The Lake and the Clint Beek Rec Site are both beautiful, there is plenty of wildlife in the area, and birds fill the sky; all in all, quite a nice place.
