Fuller Lake is quite popular for swimming, fishing, and boating (electric motors only) located just outside Chemainus, Vancouver Island. The park has an incredible beach area, lots of space for picnics, a fishing pier, a boat ramp, and full washroom facilities.
The lake park is a day-use park only. From the parking area, you walk down a grassy clearing to a beautiful but small sandy and pebbled beach. There are many tall trees providing shade on those hot summer days and there are sunny spots to warm up after a great swim. On hot days, this park can get quite busy, so arrive early for the best spots.
There are tennis courts, a floating swimming pier and change rooms for your use and the beach has a lifeguard on duty during the summer months.
The lake is good fishing for Cutthroat and Rainbow Trout. The lake is stalked on a regular basis and with the new fishing pier, it’s a great little lake to fish in. I spent a few moments chatting to a gentleman who was fishing from the pier, he had a very nice rainbow trout ready for the pan and as we chatted, he hooked into a nice size cutthroat trout that was over a kilo, nice fish, he said this is how it always is here, nice.
