Claud Elliott Lake is located in the Park of the same name. The park contains two lakes, Claud Elliott Lake and Fickle Lake, both of which are popular among flyfishers. Both lakes contain fish that can reach some amazing sizes. The first time I fished Claud Elliott, I was in my teens. Still looking to get out to Fickle Lake. You reach Claud Elliott Lake from Woss, and you reach Fickle Lake by taking a spur from the Tsitika Main Line.

The Park is one of three protected areas nestled along the upper Tsitika watershed. The area is part of a river system ranked among the 10 most important fish streams on Vancouver Island. I must say it’s a beautiful river.
Along the park’s western boundary is Claud Elliott Creek Ecological Reserve. This reserve contains montane forest communities that provide critical winter habitat for deer and elk. Two Kilometres to the east, you will find the Mount Elliott Ecological Reserve. Here you will find a small, self-contained subalpine hanging valley.

This park is remote and undeveloped, making it a wonderful place to hike. The birdlife is awesome, and you have a very real chance of seeing deer, elk and bears.
