The Dalrymple trail is located 10 km south of the Sayward junction. Watch for a sign on your left if heading towards Campbell River. After pulling into the parking lot, you will find ample parking. The trail is named after Mr. Dalrymple a hermit who lived there for a time back in the 50s.
This was a nice trail when first created, with picnic areas at the trailhead as well as several picnic tables along the trail. It was a loop trail with a bit of elevation. Now the picnic tables are covered in moss and deteriorating back into the ground. The trail has many large trees laying across it and this makes one part of the loop impassable and in another part, you are required to go under or over a large fir.
The trail along the creek is nice though. If this trail was cleared of the trees and the tables replaced, well, it would be a great trail again
