Nahwitti Lake is a nice little lake on the road to Holberg on North Vancouver Island. This lake is not fished much and does not receive much fishing pressure. There is a recreation site with a car-top boat launch for your use. This is a nice site, very big trees, lots of great views of the lake, lake access is by trails.
This lake has some excellent fishing for slow-growing cutthroat and rainbow trout, plus some kokanee and some dolly varden that can reach 1.5 kg. Best to troll this lake, as the shore is shallow and weedy. There is a nice trench the runs down the middle of the lake, just past the island that is around 40 meters deep, this is the best place for trolling.

This lake is very pretty as is the drive to it and there is an abundance of wildlife for your viewing, you have a good chance of seeing black bears, wolves, cougars, elk and blacktail deer, and many of the smaller ones like the raccoons, pine martins and squirrels. The birdlife here is incredible and will satisfy even the most dedicated birder. There is a great showing of wildflowers in the spring, so don’t forget your camera when you visit.
This is an awesome place to go mushroom picking, there are many types of edible mushrooms here. You will find chanterelle mushrooms, both yellow and white in the fall, in abundance along with a few pines, morels the chicken of the woods mushrooms here, all are so tasty. There is nothing like a fish fry with fried chanterelle mushrooms on the side.
