Cala Falls are incredible during the rainy season; the roar of them is almost deafening. On the other hand, seeing these falls during the dry season allows you to hike up to the top, a fair hike, so be prepared.

Reaching the falls is pretty easy: drive through the Village of Gold River, and head towards Tahsis on the tree-to-sea road. After about 10 km, you will see the falls; you can’t miss them. You drive over Cala Creek, and the falls run down the mountain and come right to the crossing.
If you are here in the rainy season, you will be amazed at the power of these falls as they thunder down the mountain; you will feel it in your feet, and the mist will envelop you in a fine layer of mountain mist. The sound of these falls is pretty wild.

These falls are fed from Baldy Mountain. Other rivers and creeks flow down this mountain, but Cala Creek and Falls have to be the most impressive. It matters not how many times I see these falls; they never cease to give a rush. This is one of the island’s falls that is a must-see for those who hunt out waterfalls.
