St. Vincent Bight is located just south of the Adam River estuary, just on the south end of Windy Point. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. To reach the bight, turn onto the Adam River road just past the river crossing. You can also take the Eve River road and cross the river at the bridge crossing, not too far past the Montague Campsite. Look for the bridge on the right side of the road.

Head east on the lower Adams Rd and travel for quite a while, keep your eye out for a big pullout area, really big. On the right side of the clearing are two old roads, one heads almost back in the same direction you came and the other heads in a 90-degree direction. Following this road will take you to the trail. The trail is short, and once at the bluffs, you can go either right or left. Left takes you out onto the sea bluffs that overlook the strait. This is a great whale-watching spot.

Right takes you down to the beach area where you can set up camp and spend a few days, or just go for a great hike around the beach area. This is such a wondrous place to visit, with its dark forest that you hike through to get down to the beach area with its mossy bluffs and ocean views. After leaving the Bight and getting back up to Lower Adam Road, continue east and go down to the old dryland sort, check out the views. Getting down to the beach is a pretty steep hill, but it’s doable even in a small car, and it’s worth the trip. Just up from the sort, look for a short road that goes down to a nice camping spot.

There is a trail that goes down to the water over a set of boardwalks, where, during the fishing season, crews can be dropped off or picked up. I have, over the years, dropped many friends there to be picked up from a boat.
