The Kitty Coleman Provincial Park is located on the south side of the Straight Of Georgia. The park is a nice place to visit, it is in between Campbell River and the Comox Valley, and it is a very popular park for camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing, and a great base for day trips out in a kayak. The park has a picnic shelter with tables, pit toilets, nature trails, 2 boat launches, and plenty of camping areas for both singles and group camping.

The park contains an old-growth forest of Cedars, Douglas Firs, and Western Hemlock. The 900 meters of the beach contains the Kitty Coleman Creek Estuary where you can search for small creatures of the sea at low tide, and look in the tidal pools for these small wonders. On the eastern end of the park is a majestic old fir tree that must be more than 500 years old.

Keep your eyes open and look out for Seals, Sea-lions, Dalls Porpoises, Whales, and Bald Eagles and look for the little ones like mink, squirrels, raccoons, and birds. You could also see Black Tail Deer, Black Bears and just maybe a cougar. When walking the trails please obey posted signs and keep to designated paths and avoid leaving any garbage there, keep it clean for others to enjoy.

There are campfire rings for most of the campsites along with picnic tables, firewood can be obtained from the park operator, and prices vary according to the cost put out to purchase it by the park. Please do not gather wood within the park, this is a ticketed offence under the Park Act.

Kitty Coleman Park is just 6 km northwest of the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. The park can be reached via Coleman Road off Hwy 19A, just follow the signs.
